Ray works with KABTech's clients that desire to have us design, design/build, or provide consultation for their controlled environment projects.  Ray's experience allows us to provide the best solutions for our customers.

Ray holds a bachelors degree in engineering from the Polytechnic University of New York and an MBA from Long Island University. He is a Registered Professional Engineer. He has over 35 years experience in the HVAC field, the last 25 of them specifically focused on hundreds of cleanroom projects ranging from class 100,000 (ISO 8) thru class 1 (ISO 3) in the U.S. and abroad. His experience ranges from baseline contamination control studies and conceptual facility planning, through detail design, and certification.  He has held executive engineering positions with several cleanroom design/build companies, including Fluor Daniel and Luwa. Presently, in addition to ongoing cleanroom consulting work, he is Associate Professor of Construction Science and Management at Clemson University, Clemson, South Carolina. Ray has been active in the Institute of Environmental Sciences and Technology, participating in working groups that have produced recommended practices on cleanroom testing and on cleanroom design concerns. He has authored several HVACR related books as well as the book PRACTICAL CLEANROOM DESIGN including supplements entitled "Effect of ISO on Microelectronics Cleanroom Design," "Bio-Pharmaceutical Cleanroom Design Guidelines,"  and "The Successful Cleanroom Project" . His papers and articles have appeared in industry publications such as the ASHRAE Journal, A2C2, Controlled Environments, Cleanrooms, Fabtech, Plant Engineering and Micro. More recently he developed a one day seminar entitled "Cleaner Manufacturing-First Steps" that was presented through the Clemson University South Carolina Center for Energy Studies.
Currently he is part of the ASHRAE Cleanroom Guidelines book writing team and is charged with writing a section on validation/qualification as well as a section on cleanroom construction.
